Commissioned by the National Development and Reform Commission and China Development Bank, CIECC conducted preliminary research on the preparation for the 13th Five-Year Plan for Energy Development. In this research, CIECC not only analyzed China’s economy, industrial structure, population and supply capacities for coal, oil, natural gas and electricity, but also objectively predicted the range of primary energy demand and electricity demand in 2020. CIECC proposed several key planning points for the energy sector, together with recommendations on major projects and policies. The company’s research results were adopted by relevant departments in formulating the 2030 Strategies for Revolutionizing Energy Production and Consumption, the Outline of the Yangtze River Economic Belt Development Plan, the Medium- and Long-Term Development Plan for Oil and Gas Pipeline Networks and the Medium- and Long-Term Development Plan for Power Grids.
