Reinforcing Safety and Quality, and Remaining Resolute in Promoting the Scientific Development of Railway Construction received significant instructions from officials of the State Council

China’s railway construction faltered and stagnated following the Wenzhou train collision of July 23, 2011. In September of that year, CIECC submitted to the State Council a report suggesting to use the safety inspection as an opportunity to spur the scientific development of railway construction, which was adopted by the State Council. Practice has proven that the rapid development of railways, especially high-speed railways, has not only greatly supported and led economic and social development, but also become a symbol of the “going global” strategy, playing an increasingly important role in facilitating international exchanges and raising China’s international profile. | |
