The recent earthquakes in Gansu and Qinghai have deeply touched the hearts of millions. The CIECC Beijing Ecological Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. On the morning of December 21, 2023, the BETRIC received information from the Mengda National Nature Reserve Management Bureau in Xunhua County, Qinghai Province, revealing that several villages near the Mengda Nature Reserve were affected by the earthquake. There were multiple instances of collapsed houses, disrupted roads, interruptions to water and electricity supplies, leaving many people living in disaster relief tents amidst the severe cold. After detailed communication with frontline relief workers, it was clear that the disaster area was in dire need of winter clothing, bedding, coal and emergency food supplies. The leaders of the BETRIC immediately called an urgent mobilization meeting for all staff, appealing to everyone to embody the spirit of “mutual assistance in times of adversity” and to actively participate in donating funds and items. They stressed the importance of employees of a state-owned enterprise taking the initiative to fulfill their social responsibility and mission, assisting disaster victims in returning to their normal lives as soon as possible.

That afternoon, led by Yang Fuling from the Qinghai Division, the team, carrying the love and donations from all the employees of the BETRIC, traveled more than 200 kilometers to the disaster front. They visited the affected residents and rescue workers, personally delivering the relief materials and donations to the disaster relief officials, and passed on the BETRIC’s heartfelt sympathies and best wishes to the victims and rescuers. The people in the disaster areas and the rescue workers were deeply touched by the generosity and concern shown by the employees of the state-owned enterprise from afar, and they expressed heartfelt thanks.
