On the morning of June 26, 2023, Dou Hao, Vice President of CIECC, as well as the Executive Director of the CIECC Academy of Strategic Studies, met with Maehara Masaki, Deputy President of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (China) Limited (SMBC China), and his delegation at the CIECC Building. The two parties engaged in discussions aimed at deepening cooperation in relevant fields.

Dou Hao welcomed Deputy President Maehara and his delegation and briefed them on the development of CIECC’s consulting business. He noted that the Chinese-Japanese enterprise diagnosis cooperation, which began in 1981 and spanned over 20 years, has made positive contributions to the technological advancement, management improvement, industrial transformation and upgrading of Chinese enterprises. As the Chinese lead organization, CIECC played a significant role in the specific organization and execution of these diagnoses. SMBC China, as an important financial service institution for Japanese-funded enterprises in China, should serve as a bridge and bond, working with CIECC to summarize the successful experience of the enterprise diagnosis, strengthen exchanges and interactions between enterprises of both countries, and explore new forms of cooperation in new areas and periods.

Deputy President Maehara thanked CIECC for its contributions to the enterprise diagnosis cooperation between Japan and China. He remarked that Japanese-funded enterprises in China have great confidence in China’s development and hope to continue to consolidate and expand their business in China. He looked forward to this dialogue serving as a catalyst for both parties to find more points of business convergence and to advance cooperation in relevant areas.
